Expertise of the Department

With a focus on the design and synthesis of novel five and six-member heterocyclic compounds, our department boasts a wealth of expertise in molecular modelling, Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship (QSAR), and Quantitative Structure-Property Relationship (QSPR) studies.

Research Activities

Our research endeavours are diverse and impactful, encompassing various facets of drug discovery and development:

• Designing and synthesis of novel heterocyclic compounds for antimicrobial, antifungal, anticancer, antidiabetic, and anti-hypertensive activities.
• Exploration of novel heterocycles for anti-inflammatory properties.
• Rigorous QSAR studies to elucidate the structure-activity relationships of synthesised compounds.

Future Plans

Looking ahead, we are poised to expand our horizons and push the boundaries of pharmaceutical innovation. Our plans include:

• Designing an active library comprising a repertoire of potent drug candidates.
• Offering custom synthesis services to meet our collaborator's and partners' unique needs.
• Leveraging advanced software for virtual screening, accelerating the drug discovery process
• Implementing combinatorial synthesis techniques to streamline compound synthesis and optimisation.

R&D Initiatives

Our R&D wing serves as the epicentre of innovation, driving the synthesis of newer molecules with therapeutic potential. Over the years, we have developed synthetic drugs targeting a myriad of ailments, including but not limited to, HIV, allergies, inflammation, and pain relief.
