Established in 1998 and formally registered in 2006, Nataraja Kalakrishna Nritya Jyothi Academy—also known as Perini Nrityalayam—is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of classical Indian dance and music. The academy offers structured training to students aged six and above, beginning from the foundational level.
The curriculum follows specially designed syllabus aligned with the Suravaram Pratapa ReddyTelugu University standards. Students are thoroughly prepared and guided to appear for the university’s Certificate and Diploma examinations in classical dance and music.
A notable highlight for the academic year 2024–25 is the introduction of the Perini Nritya Visharada Course, conducted with the official approval and support of the Telangana State Department of Language and Culture. This program is uniquely designed to accommodate students not only from Telangana but also from across other states, enabling them to participate in the examinations and gain formal accreditation in the revered art form of Perini.
So far, students trained at the academy have appeared for certificate examinations at Telugu University in Andhra Natyam, Perini Natyam, Kuchipudi, and Carnatic Music. Several students have successfully completed the Diploma examination in Andhra Natyam with distinction. Experienced instructors teach both practical and theoretical aspects in a clear and accessible manner.
